Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > 11-5-09 'Tis the Season (for allergies)

The farmers have been hard at it the past couple of days. We have had such a wet and rainy season, but I predict some empty fields after this weekend. I'm prayin' for some good weather and safe farmers.

Just a lonely old house that we drive by regularly.
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > 11-3-09 Where's Bambi? (Original is also posted in this gallery for your viewing pleasure... or pain as the case may be.) ;-D

My husband and I were leaving our home (we live on a dead end surrounded by woods in the Midwest), and we spotted a young deer on our lane. This is not an unusual occurrence, but it was unusual that I had my camera with me at the right time. Usually by the time I get my camera, the little beast(s) is gone.

I hurried to get the lens cap off, as I did the deer bounced into the woods. We pulled the car up to the direction of the bounce, and I took a couple of shots. Wasn't sure if I got him at all until we got home and I pulled up the picture on the screen. We could barely see him with our eyes from the car, and the camera didn't let us down. I adjusted the picture to make it a bit easier to find the little beast. ~I say that as a love/hate comment, as they cause many auto accidents around our area. Not to mention my dad just hit one on his motorcycle last weekend. He just had out-patient surgery today on his shoulder (his only real injury other than his Harley), and he is doing well. Praise the Lord!~

Hunting season is upon us. Those of you who are hunters, please be careful! Those of you who are drivers of vehicles, please be careful as well!

Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > 11-2-09 Was it a dream?

The leaves are all but gone, and winter is around the corner. Not my favorite time of year. I'm already counting down the days until Spring. I am a total Summer person in every way... I just live too far North. But alas, if we lived too far south, we would miss the beauty of the changing of the seasons. I guess life always has it's compromises.

I have seen so many inspiring photos here recently, and I can't wait to try some of those ideas! You guys are great!

Thanks so much for all of the feedback over the last several days. Again, if you have any ideas on how you would do something differently, please let me know. You can never hurt my feelings, as I am here to learn.

I got tired of editing after 2 shoots and the last several "dailies", and thought you'd like a cute face in the sky straight up. This is the same niece who could wave colors in the dark a few days ago, and today shows her model versatility by climbing Grandma's bare walnut tree.
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > 10-31-09 YIKES!!

The scariest thing in the world is not a zombie or ghost... Kids, if your mom looks like this... RUN!

Trying to come up with an original idea for a Halloween photo, I remembered how scared my kids used to be when I would 'relax"... told my husband to get the camera... a bit of editing... and here ya go.

Men, aren't you glad you are not married to this?! ;-)

Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt... Matthew 6:20

I see this barn several times each week as I drive by. I have wanted to stop and take pictures, but the best angle is from a highway with very small shoulders... soooo... this is a drive-by shooting (don't tell my husband... he's a cop)

I did play a bit with the contrast and color to see what I could do... this is what I got. The original is posted in this gallery as well.

As always, any and all comments and/or suggestions are welcome. You cannot hurt my feelings. I'm here to learn.

Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > Swing me! - A young family enjoys one of the last nice days before winter. These are friends of mine who wanted some family pictures before the new baby arrives in December. This was an unsuccessful/success (IMHO) after a bit of editing.
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > Lights, Camera, Action - My niece and I were waiting for the parade. Grandma bought her this battery operated light sword from the vendor, and we had a bit of fun while we waited. She got candy, and I got some eye candy.
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > M is for Moeller - Didn't have time to take pictures today, but needed to do some editing for the family I shot on Saturday. This was not my idea, but the idea of the mother in this family. We found this tree in the yard in their neighborhood, but they didn't know the property owners. So I knocked on the door and asked a total stranger if I could climb his tree to take this picture. He smiled and said, "Sure."

You all don't know me, but I'm 5'3" and 41 years old. The first branch was a good 6 ft off the ground, so I borrowed a step ladder, and pulled myself up. (They held the camera, of course, while I climbed) I took full advantage, and we took well over 40 pictures in different poses, but this is one of my favorites.

Today I had my husband rub IcyHot all over my arms and legs... but I'd do it again.
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > 10-26-09 It's Fall, who needs toys! - The Bears didn't do too well today, so our little friend/Bear fan came to visit and play in the leaves. He isn't quite 2 yet, and moves fast. The light was low, so I had to do what I could. I didn't like the look with the flash near as much, so I tried some different things to get the most from the image. He is just a doll, and can't take a bad picture... unless he's moving, which is ALWAYS!

Thanks again for all the comments (kind words and critique BOTH). I hope I never stop learning, and I have borrowed so many ideas from looking through these. My husband said it's a good thing SmugMug doesn't charge by the hour. ;-)
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > Color your world

Started the day with a shoot. Some sweet friends of mine have agreed to help me get my business off the ground. They are just the All American Adorable family. I'm sure that you will see more of them here from time to time.

I was quite taken back to notice that my "Harley Barn" had held the top slot in yesterday's daily shots, even for a short time. Considering all of the talent and amazing photos I see, I take it as quite a compliment. I still don't understand how all this works, but I really appreciate every one's kind words and support. I also like to hear that you "don't like" a picture, or that you like a different direction for the image. Being here to learn as much as I can, all your input is greatly appreciated! Thank you
Terisa Lingafelter (CountryRoadPhoto) > Harley Barn - Took some nice pictures in the park only to find that I didn't put an SD card in, so I had to find an old barn. You can always count on an old barn for a nice autumn pic. This is actually behind the Harley Davidson dealership in Effingham, IL
